Matt joined the department as a Junior Member in 2008. Since then, he has held the the positions of Lieutenant, Captain, Assistant Chief and President. Matt is has been serving as the Deputy Chief since 2021.
Matt was hired as a FF/EMT by the Christiana Fire Company in 2016. In 2023 he was promoted to Liuetenant and assigned to B-Shift. He is also a part-time instructor for the Delaware State Fire School and holds the certifications of Firefighter II, Fire Instructor II, Fire Officer III, Incident Safety Officer, Live Fire Instructor, Rope Rescue Operations, Swift Water Rescue Technician, Hazardous Materials Operations, Engine Operator, and Aerial Apparatus Operator.
