MVC w/ Rollover

MVC with Entrapment ; Stein Hwy. and Nylon Blvd.

6/27/17 at 0758 Seaford Fire Dept., Sussex County Paramedics and Blades Rescue 71 were dispatched to Stein Hwy for a motor vehicle accident with a subject trapped. Crews did a side wall removal and dash displacement to free the patient. Extrication was complete in 15 minutes. SERT 1 was declared for approximately 175 gal. of diesel fuel spilled, bringing DNREC, HazMat 48, and DSFS to the scene.

Heavy Extrication on Stein Highway

On Tuesday Morning, June 13, 2017 at 0614 hours. Seaford 911 Center dispatched Seaford Fire and EMS along with Sussex County Paramedics to a Motor Vehicle Crash with Entrapment and Fire. Deputy Chief Taylor was the Incident Commander and requested assistance from several Fire, EMS and support agencies. Extrication was complete at 1904 hours and all patients were transported to Nanticoke ER.

Smoke Investigation

Seaford Fire was dispatched along with mutual aide to the 1000 block of W. Stein Hwy for smoke coming from a building. Command 87 (A/C Read) arrived to a commercial strip with smoke showing middle of the row. Units operated for 90 minutes. Incident is under investigation by the State Fire Marshall's office.

Vehicle Accident w/Entrapment

Seaford Fire and EMS, Along with Sussex County EMS, Blades EMS, and DSP Aviation were dispatched by Seaford 911 Center for Motor Vehicle Crash with rollover and entrapment on Sussex Highway and Swain Road at 2233 hours. Upon arrival Paramedics confirmed 1 occupant trapped. Command 87 (Chief Moore 87-15) requested 2nd Rescue out of Blades 71 for assistance. 1 occupant was extricated and transported to Nanticoke ER for evaluation. Fire Police shut down Northbound Sussex Highway while operation was being conducted. Under investigation by DSP.

Vehicle Accident w/ HAZMAT

Seaford Fire was dispatched by Seaford Center 911 to Sussex Highway and Herring Run Road at 0931 hours for a washdown incident involving approximately 400 gallons of liquid fertilizer. The incident was State Level 1 Hazmat Response. Units responding: Seaford Fire , Seaford Fire Police, Seaford Police, Hazmat 83 and 48, DNREC, and DelDot. Units were onscene for 1 hour 45 minutes.
