Matthew C Read

Matt joined the department as a Junior Member in 2008. Since then, he has held the the positions of Lieutenant, Captain, Assistant Chief and President. Matt is currently serving as the Deputy Chief. 

Matt is a Lieutenant for the Christiana Fire Company and a part-time instructor for the Delaware State Fire School. He holds the Pro Board certifications of Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Hazardous Materials Operations, Fire Instructor I, Fire Instructor II, Safety Officer 1, Fire Officer I, Fire Officer II, Engine Operator, and Aerial Apparatus Operator.
